The Minister for Education has raised the prospect of using child benefit money to extend the free pre-school year.

Ruairi Quinn made the comments at the launch of a Growing Up in Ireland report which looks at the effect of education on 20 thousand nine year olds across the country.
Minister Quinn says the best benefit you can offer a child is education – and therefore extending early education might be a better way to spend child benefit.
