Quin Terminal Cancer Patient Says HSE Use Of Debt Collectors Is ‘Completely Irresponsible’

A terminally ill Quin man believes the HSE instructing private debt collectors to pursue cancer patients for medical fees is ‘completely irresponsible’.

Analysis from the Irish Examiner suggests the HSE has spent four million euro on collection agencies since 2013.

The Irish Cancer Society has led calls to end the practice, though the HSE says it has a statutory obligation to continue it.
