Residents in Quilty have rejected proposals for flood defence works at Clohaninchy.
Residents in Quilty have rejected proposals for flood defence works at Clohaninchy.
A draft plan, which would include the building of an embankment, has been proposed by Clare County Council, in an effort to prevent a repeat of the severe flood damage that hit the area in January of 2014.
However, locals are not satisifed with the proposals, and the local authority says it will now bring their issues to the Consultant Engineers overseeing the project for consideration.
Chairman of the Clohaninchy Action Group Michael Neenan remains hopeful that a satisfactory solution can be found.
