Funeral details for the two Quilty Fishermen who tragically lost their lives near Spanish Point this week have been finalised.
Michael Galvin and Noel Dickinson, from Seaview Park, Quilty died when their fishing trawler – the Lady Eileen went down on Monday evening, and investigations into what caused the tragedy are being carried out by the Marine Casualty Investigation Board.
Large crowds are expected to gather in Quilty this evening to pay their last respects to two well known and well liked local men.
65 year old Michael Galvin is survived by wife Liz, sons Brian and Aidan and Daughter Michelle who have returned home from Australia on hearing the devastating news this week
His neighbour from Seaview Park, the late Noel Dickinson -was in his thirties, and is survived by parents Larry and Mary, sisters Anne Marie and Frances and brother Alan – His partner Helen O’Leary is expecting their first child
Both men will repose at their respective family homes this evening from 5 o’clock until 8 – They will then be laid to rest, just several hundred yards from where they lived – after separate masses at the The Star of the Sea Church Quilty tomorrow
Both families have asked for donations to local search and rescue services in lieu of flowers
