The Quilty community unites in grief today as they prepare to say their final farewells to two local fishermen who tragically lost their lives at sea this week.
Neighbours Michael Galvin and Noel Dickinson, from Seaview Park, Quilty died when their fishing trawler – the Lady Eileen went down off Spanish Point on Monday evening.
Hundreds of people gathered at the homes of both men last night to offer sympathies and support to their grieving families.
Funeral mass will be held for Mr Dickinson at 11 o’clock this morning at Star of the Sea Church in Quilty, while Mr Galvin’s funeral mass will be held at 3 o’clock.
Local Parish Priest Father Pat Larkin says the community is providing much needed support to the loved ones of the neighbouring fishermen.
