Questions ‘Still Remain’ Over Broadband Plan Rollout – Dooley

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD says questions now need to be addressed over the rollout of the National Broadband Plan.

An independent auditor’s report has found that meetings between former Minister Denis Naughten and businessman David McCourt didn’t taint the Plan’s tendering process.

The Department of Communications will now continue to evaluate the bid of Mr. McCourt’s consortium to deliver broadband to 542,000 premises.

It’s the sole remaining bidder, after a number of other companies withdrew, and Deputy Timmy Dooley now believes that the process should be stopped altogether.
