Questions Raised Over Cost Of Flood Defences

Questions have been raised over the cost of flood defence works in parts of West and North Clare.

The findings of an investigation into flood damage in Miltown Malbay and Ballyvaughan are due to be published in the coming weeks – the hydrological reports were commissioned in response to flooding in September and December of 2015.

The reports will form the basis for funding applications under the Minor Works Relief Scheme, with the Ballyvaughan project likely to cost up to 250,000 euro and the Miltown Malbay works in the region of 300,000.
