A prominent Clare hotelier has expressed disappointment over the government’s aviation policy, which is targeting significantly more growth at Dublin Airport than Shannon.
The policy, which includes plans for a third terminal at Dublin, states that its passenger numbers could double to 61 million by 2050.

By contrast, it targets only an additional 2 million passengers for Shannon in that timeframe.
Mark Nolan, who’s the Managing Director of Dromoland Castle and also the Chair of Shannon Chamber’s Transport Committee is calling for a strategy to develop route ways into the west coast.
He has also questioned the wisdom of the government’s plans.
