Clare’s Sinn Fein TD believes changing income tax rules on the PUP may unfairly punish those who want to go back to work.
Those now receiving the state support, who manage to secure a job this year, will see a reduced take home wage in their pay packet.

Workers on the PUP in 2021 were given the option to pay their income tax bill over 4 years, but this won’t be in place this year.
Kilrush-based Deputy Violet-Anne Wynne says the measure puts pressure on employees when they can get back into the workplace.
