Public Meeting To Be Held In Lisdoonvarna Over Direct Provision Centre

Lisdoonvarna Fáilte has expressed fear that a decision on a direct provision centre in the village is already set in stone.

It’s now just five days until the King Thomond Hotel is due to open to asylum seekers, a decision that has caused concern in the local community.

A public meeting will take place tonight, after which locals will vote on a motion to appeal to the owner of the hotel to axe the plans.

Chair of Lisdoonvarna Fáilte Paddy Dunne fears the decision is already made and says it’s the asylum seekers who will suffer as a result.
