Public Expenditure Minister To Discuss Shannon-Amsterdam Route With Government Colleagues

The Minister for Public Expenditure says he intends to bring proposals for a Shannon to Amsterdam route to his Government colleagues.

It’s after the Department of Transport last month confirmed it’s examining the possibility of providing financial support to an airline to operate the route, due to the economic benefits it would bring the Midwest region.

The Department says the move would mark a ‘significant shift’ in policy, though the matter is expected to come across Minister Michael McGrath’s desk imminently.

He’s been telling Clare Fianna Fail TD Cathal Crowe in the Dail that the Government intends to continue to provide support to Shannon.
