People in Clare are being encouraged to consider all care options before attending the Emergency Department at the region’s main hospital this weekend.
It’s understood patients have been attending the ED at University Hospital Limerick in record numbers this year, including unusually high numbers of presentations over recent weekends and a surge in paediatric patients.

The UL Hospitals Group says staff will prioritise care ‘for those most in need of it’ over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Respiratory physician Dr Eithne Mulloy is also encouraging people to get vaccinated, with both Covid and flu already presenting problems in Dooradoyle.
