They gathered in Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle and Los Angeles as well as New York.
But outgoing president Barack Obama is urging people to accept the vote.
It comes as Enda Kenny has spoken with US President Elect Donald Trump.
The Taoiseach held a ten minute phone call with Mr Trump last night, with both men committing to working for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
They also confirmed that the long standing tradition of the Taoiseach visiting the White House on St Patrick's Day will continue.
Meanwhile, Clare's Junior Minister is confident the Irish Government can have a good working relationship with the Trump administration.
President-elect Trump has previously claimed he would lower America's Corporate Tax rate, in order to lure US companies away from countries like Ireland.
However, Pat Breen is confident that Ireland can remain competitive, even if the new president enacts such a policy.
