A mass demonstration at Shannon Airport has heard calls for ethics and morals to be prioritised over jobs and money.
Hundreds gathered at the Clare base yesterday afternoon for an event called ‘Stop Arming Israel,’ which was organised by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, in conjunction with Shannonwatch.
With a strong Garda presence on display, protestors once again called for an end to be brought to the US Military’s use of Shannon Airport in light of the devastation brought upon Palestine by Israel with the aid of US weaponry and resources.
Shannon Airport has confirmed there were no disruptions to airport operations and that flights operated on schedule, with no delays or cancellations as a result of the event.
Chairperson of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Zoe Lawlor claims by allowing US planes to refuel in Shannon, the airport is complicit in the actions of countries the US military supports.
