A protest is being held today over concerns with the provision of water rescue services at Kilkee.

Several groups are coming together in the town this evening at 7pm in protest at what they claim is a reduced number of rescuers with the Coast Guard since it took over in 2013.

They claim the lifeboats won’t go out past the George’s Head point to the open sea – something they’re worried will leave people in danger.
