The East Clare Windfarm Opposition Alliance claims future generations will suffer the most if a number of projects are given the go ahead in the region.
In a peaceful protest at Arás Chontae An Chláir yesterday, the group called for an immediate halt to the development of an 11 turbine windfarm mooted for Oatfield near Sixmilebridge.

A further 55 turbines are planned across projects in Ballycar, Knockshanvo, Fahybeg, Carrownagowan and Lackareagh which the alliance claims will have serious financial and health implications due to property devaluation and infrasound.
Meelick resident Bernadette Kiely believes her locality would be destroyed.
