New legislation to give effect to the property tax being introduced next year will be voted on in the Dáil today.

The government has been accused of rushing through the legislation which doesn’t have to be in place until next July.
Meanwhile, a protest will take place this evening outside the Dáil – in a last ditch attempt to persuade TDs and Ministers not to implement the property tax.
The Campaign Against Household and Water taxes says this levy will be boycotted – as they believe the majority of people cannot afford to pay it.
