A prohibition order on swimming has been placed in White Strand Miltown Malbay.
Clare County Council has confirmed the move this lunchtime, which they say is based on HSE advice.

It’s understood increased bacterial levels in the water in the area have occurred as a result of recent rainfall.
No timeline has been given for any potential lifting of the order, with the local authority advising the public not to swim there until further notice.
