Prohibition On Swimming At Cappagh

Clare County Council has imposed a prohibition order on swimming in Cappagh.

The local authority says the move is as a result of ‘elevated bacterial levels’ at the rocky beach near Kilrush.

The Council says the levels are as a result of ‘turbulent sea conditions’ which occurred over the weekend.

It’s understood the prohibition order will be lifted when bacterial levels recede to what the local authority describes as ‘acceptable levels’.
