In terms of local projects, the document makes no specific mention of Clare or the MidWest, but there is an overall commitment to balanced regions.

It also does not name Shannon Airport, but states that the new government will support airports, and deliver capital programmes for State and regional airports.

The Shannon LNG terminal, planned for the Shannon Estuary, will be withdrawn from the EU Projects of Common Interest list, effectively scuttling that project.

The document does commit to ensuring local development plans to stimulate economic activity for areas which were expecting economic development arising from new fossil fuel infrastructure.

There’s also a commitment to consider the future of the Western Rail Corridor.

No specific roads projects are mentioned, but there are plans to proceed up to the design stage of the already announced relocation of Limerick University Maternity Hospital to UHL.
