The price of a postage stamp is set to rise next year.
The change to stamp prices will mean the Communications Regulator being asked to lift the postal cap from its present level.
An Post says it will make the change – once the legislation is in place in 2017 – with prices set to increase across various mail categories ranging from 14-to-35 per-cent.
The company says the global trend of e-substitution for postal mail is impacting on An Post's business.
The Minister for Communications is set to bringing a memorandum to Government seeking approval for the hike.
