Pressure grows on PAC chairman to consider his position

There is mounting pressure on John McGuinness to resign from his role as the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.

It comes after the Fianna Fail TD claimed that taxpayers should pay for ministers to take their spouses abroad while on official travel.

The Carlow-Kilkenny deputy is insisting he has done nothing untoward – saying he was only seeking clarification on the matter.

Junior Transport Minister Alan Kelly says he does not agree with John McGuinness – who’s position he says is now in question:
