President Michael D. Higgins visits Clare for a number of engagements today.

The President, who spent much of his childhood living at Ballycar, Newmarket on Fergus, will begin his day in Ennis with a visit to St. Flannan's College, his old secondary school.
He's then due to travel onto Miltown Malbay, where he's to visit Rockmount National School and also open a new Irish Water Safety Training Centre at White Strand.
Afterwards, the President will meet a delegation from the Willie Clancy Summer School before he travels onto Kilfenora to open the Kilfenora Céilí Band 'Parlour' Exhibition at the Burren Centre.
