President In Ennis As Clarecare Celebrates 50 Years

Clarecare is celebrating fifty years of serving the people of Clare tonight.

At a time when there were relatively few social services in Ireland, Clarecare was set up by then County Manager Joe Boland and the late Bishop Michael Harty, to co-ordinate the activities of voluntary organisations.

While the group has focused on services for the elderly since its inception, it has come to offer a range of services including counselling, addiction treatments, family supports and day centre services.
