Two Clare schools have been praised by Department of Education officials following inspections of the sites in recent months.
Inspectors praised the standard of teaching and facilities at both Cranny National School and Scoil Naisiunta Cluain An Atha
As part of their regular inspections of schools around the country, Department of Education officials carried out a wholse school evaluation of Cranny National School in February of this year.
It found that the quality of teaching at the 26 pupil school is ‘very good’ and that there is a ‘positive atmosphere there.’
Inspectors did however recommend that a room be developed for the instruction of pupils receiving resource teaching supports.
Meanwhile, high praise was also given to Scoil Naisiunta Cluain An Atha in Inagh-Kilnamona, with officials describing teachers as ‘highly dedicated’.
Commendable standards were also noted in maths in particular, though teachers were urged to continue to integrate information and communication technologies into teaching and learning.
In response, the school’s board of management say they are ‘delighted with the report’s findings.’
