Parts of the county have experienced power outages and traffic delays as the first names storm of the season made landfall this morning.
Almost 1,000 customers have experienced an outage so far today as the orange wind warning brought by Storm Ashley remains in place until 8pm this evening.
Tulla, Kilbaha and Parts of Ennis were all without power for a time this morning with 938 customers affected across the county.
Power has since been restored to Kilbaha and Tulla while works continue to restore power to those affected in Ennis.
Meanwhile, reports of fallen trees have caused road blockages across the county.
A section of the R474 between Connolly and Kilmaley is almost completely blocked as works are underway to remove the obstruction.
Delays are expected on the R458 between Dromoland Castle and Newmarket on Fergus also with a fallen there also blocking the road.
Elsewhere, blockages reported on the N67 between Kilrush and Killimer, the R466 between Broadford and O’Callaghansmills have since been removed.
Transport For Ireland has issued a reminder that some of its services throughout the day may be delayed due to Storm Ashley.
While Clare GAA confirmed this morning that due to the earlier onset time of the storm, all GAA activities across the county today were cancelled, including the TUS senior hurling final.
Clare County Council have issued advice to avoid coastal areas and to be advised that spot flooding is likely due to high spring tides.
Due to adverse driving conditions the RSA is reminding drivers to allow greater distance from the vehicle in front and to choose an alternative route when encountering a flooded road.
