Up to 700 homes and businesses have been hit by a major power outage in Ennis this evening.
ESB Networks have told Clare FM that a main feeder electricty line into the town is affected.

The ESB says the affected cables are underground and the fault is not storm-related and the likely cause is a cable strike.
Crews are at the scene currently and supply is expected to be restored by 7pm.
