Poultry farmers are being warned of an avian flu risk in Clare.
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has issued the alert after dead sea birds washing up on the shores of Clare, Galway and Kerry tested positive for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza.

Members of the public are advised not to touch sick or dead wild birds, not to bring sick wild birds home and to keep pets away from them also.
The Department says the virus can survive for several weeks in the environment, regardless of whether carcasses have been removed from the area or not.
