Clare County Council will also be represented at the discussions, despite previously indicating that it was not interested at the site.

The Department has previously said ‘market conditions’ will be taken into account when assessing the value of the site, but Lahinch Fine Gael Councillor Bill Slattery is hopeful a deal can be struck.
