Emergency services were alerted shortly before five o'clock yesterday evening following reports of a man collapsing close to the Falls Hotel in Ennistymon.

The area was sealed off for a forensic examination and the body was removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem examination is due to be carried out today.

A Garda spokesman has confirmed that there's no indication that the death is suspicious but that the post mortem will determine the course of the investigation.

Gardaí are investigating the possibility that the man may have suffered a fall or died as a result of a medical episode.
