Jack had been missing from his home on the Considine Road since Tuesday last.

A major search operation was carried out by local Gardaí, assisted by a number of agencies, over the past week.

The body was discovered in the Beech Park area, around 500 metres out the Kilmaley Road, at around 3.30 yesterday afternoon by a local man out walking his dog.

A gun was recovered at the scene.

The Dinan family was informed and the body was removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem examination is expected to place today.

Gardaí say his death is not being treated as suspicious.
