There could be good news for staff and pupils at Sixmilebridge National School which was omitted from the government’s five year building programme this week.
Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen says he’s held talks with the Education Minister about the situation at Saint Finnachta’s and has secured a meeting between Rurai Quinn and a delegation from the school.
There was shock and disapointment in Sixmilebridge over the school’s absence from the 1.5 billion programme, since it had been previously indentified for development giving the growing pupils numbers and increased use of prefabs.
Chairperson of the Parents Association at Saint Finnachta’s Maeve Flynn is hopeful they can convince the minister of the absolute need for a new premises.
