Gardaí in Ennistymon are working with Interpol to trace the family of an English tourist found dead in Corofin.
The body of the woman in her sixties was found in a camper van at a campsite in the North Clare village yesterday afternoon.
The woman had arrived in Corofin on Saturday, and her camper van was searched yesterday after people there were concerned that she hadn't been seen for some time.
She had been travelling only with her dog, which was found to be unwell and brought to a local vet.
A post mortem examination will be carried out on her remains at University Hospital Limerick this morning to establish the cause of her death but Gardaí don't suspect any foul play.
It's believed a gas leak may have been a factor.
A technical examination of the scene took place last evening, and the camper van was removed to Ennistymon Garda Station.
