A popular West Clare Christmas lights display is to go ahead this year.
It’s despite concerns being raised about energy prices and usage, with a number of public bodies including Clare County Council already committing to cutting down on the time their lights are on near the festive period.

John Fennell in Kilrush was crowned winner of Energia’s ‘Most Christmassy Home’ competition back in 2020.
He says he will plough ahead with his display this year despite cost concerns.
