That's the view among members of Clare County Council's Economic Development Committee where examples of companies struggling to do business due to low speed internet connections in many parts of the county have been raised.
Though the government has committed to rolling out a rural broadband scheme to address the problem, it's likely to be five years before the whole country can expect high speed access, and Kilrush Councillor Ian Lynch says that just won't do.
