Taoiseach Defends €18m Bill For Security For Trump And Pence Visits

The Taoiseach has defended the €18 million spent by the Gardaí on security for the visits of US President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence to County Clare this year.

Leo Varadkar told reporters in Los Angeles ‘it was worth it’.

He says any time a high-profile figure comes to Ireland they are always welcome, and there are benefits for Ireland in doing so.
