Paramedics Service Could Suffer From Driving Tests Hold-Up – Crowe

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD is warning that the paramedic service could suffer because of the ongoing restrictions facing those who want to sit their driving tests.

Speaking at an Oireachtas Transport Committee meeting, Deputy Cathal Crowe has highlighted the case of a Clare student who fears that they won’t be able to take up a place in a Paramedic Studies course at UL this September.

The course, which is the only one of its kind in Ireland, requires applicants to have a Category C1 drivers license, but prospective students who do not have this license will find it very difficult to secure this license unless action is taken to address the anomaly.
