The Minister for Higher Education is set to explore the establishment of a training and apprenticeship centre of excellence in West Clare.
Currently TUS and the University of Galway have satellite third level facilities in this county at Ennis and Shannon.
However with 10,000 new green energy jobs forecast for the Shannon Estuary Region by 2035, Independent TD Violet Anne Wynne has called for a relevant training centre to be installed in West Clare.
