Former Clare Fianna Fáil TD Loses Out On Seanad Seat

Former Clare Fianna Fáil TD Timmy Dooley has lost out on the chance of a seat in the Seanad.

Dooley has been eliminated after the 21st count on the Industrial and Commercial Panel in the upper house elections.

He lost his Dáil seat in the general election in February and had been hoping for a swift return to politics by gaining a seat in the Seanad, where his Oireachtas career began back in 2002.

The Industrial and Commercial Panel also included his party mate Michael Vaughan of Lahinch, who was eliminated in the fifth count.
