Clare’s Fine Gael Senator believes the right decision was made in deselecting TD Maria Bailey as a party candidate for the next general election.
Deputy Bailey has been in the spotlight since she took a personal injuries claim against a Dublin hotel after falling off a swing.
In a statement she said she was “disappointed” with the decision, which has resulted in Councillor Jennifer Carroll MacNeill being added to the ticket in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown constituency.
