Concern Expressed That Clare Councillors Have Reduced Decision Making Powers

Concern has been expressed that councillors in Clare and across the country no longer have the decision making power they once had.

Two councillors in Dublin have this week resigned their seats citing poor pay and conditions in the role.

All elected local representatives receive a basic salary of just over €17,000 each year, with Senators earning four times that amount and TD’s more than five times that figure.
