Clune Labels Brexit Day Bittersweet

An Ireland South MEP has described today is a bittersweet day for Ireland and the EU.

Fine Gael’s Deirdre Clune will officially take up the seat she won back in May when the United Kingdom officially exits the EU at 11 o’clock tonight, after 47 years.

The Brexit Withdraw Agreement was approved by the European Parliament on Wednesday, with 621 votes in favour, 49 against and 13 abstentions.
