The Chair of the Clare Labour Party is accusing the Government of consistently failing to address serious issues facing the country.

It comes ahead of Dail vote today on the party’s motion of no confidence in the Government, with the coalition tabling a counter motion, which will be debated in the chamber this morning.

It’s understood a number of Independent TDs have yet to decide how they will vote on the motion, though Scariff TD Michael McNamara has confirmed that he intends to vote no confidence in the Government.

Meelick Fianna Fáil TD, Cathal Crowe has indicated that he’ll vote confidence in the Government this morning and against a Sinn Féin motion on the eviction ban later today.

Clarecastle Fine Gael TD Joe Carey, meanwhile, remains on sick leave, as he recuperates following hospitalisation recently. It’s understood his party has been working to secure a pairing arrangement for today’s votes.
