Clare Housing Chair Brands Dept Of Integration Letter “Insult To Public Representatives In Clare”

A Department of Integration response to an issue raised by the Chair of Clare County Council’s Housing Committee has been branded “an insult to public representatives in Clare”.

Clare County Council recently called on the Government to “have consideration” for tourism-dependent business in the county, whose trade has suffered due to reduced availability of tourism beds, owing to a high proportion of asylum seekers being placed in their area.

In reply, a letter from the Department of Integration states it aims to “enhance communications and engagement and give communities more access to information on what is happening in their communities”.
