Clare Disability Activist Has Sights Set On Historic Seanad Seat

A Clare disability rights activist is hoping to break the mould by becoming the first disabled woman who is a service user to sit in the Oireachtas.

Ann Marie Flanagan of the Clare Leader Forum is one of four people from this county who are on the ticket for the upcoming Seanad elections.

Former Clare Fianna Fáil TD Timmy Dooley, who lost his seat at the general election this month, as well as Lahinch hotelier Michael Vaughan and incumbent Ennistymon Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway are all also in the running.
