Clare JPC Chair Says New Gardaí Needed ‘Urgently’ For County In The Budget

The Chair of Clare’s Joint Policing Committee says provision for extra Gardai in this county is needed as a matter of urgency in the Budget.

800 additional Gardaí were allocated for last year, with Commissioner Drew Harris having promised during his visit here in October that this county would get ‘its fair share’ from that pool.

However, concerns remain amongst elected representatives here about local resources, with the Clare Garda Division’s vehicle fleet being the lowest in the country.
