Plaque to be unveiled to Titanic Clare Victims

Clare County Council will unveil a plaque in honour of the Clare victims of the Titanic later today.

Three people from the county travelled on ill-fated trip 100 years ago – Martin McMahon of Cragbrien, Ennis and Daniel Keane of Gallowshill, Cratloe, both lost their lives when the ship struck an iceberg.

However, 19-year-old Mary Agatha Glynn of Slievenore, Flagmount was remarkably saved.

The plaque will be located at the Aras Chontae an Chlair in Ennis, and will be unveiled by Mayor of Clare, Councillor Pat Hayes at 6:45 this evening.
