Plans have been unveiled for a 24-metre tower structure in a rural part of North Clare.
If approved, the tower would support a series of telecommunications antennae.
Shared Access Limited has submitted a planning application for a development in the townland of Blakemount which is located between Crusheen and Tubber.
The UK company, which has its Irish headquarters at Dublin Airport, specialises in leasing space on telecom towers, designing in-building mobile connectivity systems and private networks.
Its application to Clare County Council is seeking to construct a 24-metre lattice tower structure on a concrete base which would support nine telecommunications antennae.
The application also provides for the installation of dishes, a new access track, associated fencing, cabling, a compound area, ground-based equipment cabinets, a mini pillar and associated site works.
Public submissions on the development can be sent to Clare County Council up to November 26th, after which point a decision will be reached by the Council’s Planning Department by December 17th.
