Plans have been lodged with the local authority for the construction of a new school in the North of the county.
Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board is seeking an extensive development in Srohill in Ennistymon.
Central to the application is the construction of a two-storey building consisting of eight classrooms, a library, offices, resource and learning rooms and a single special education needs classroom.
The installation of a hard play court, play areas, a sensory garden, tiered seating and child play areas is also being sought.
Realigning and widening existing entrances to the site on the L1050 Ballinagaddy Road have also been proposed.
This includes the demolition of existing walls and the construction of a new vehicle entrance along with parking for 19 cars and bus and car drop off areas.
Alterations to an additional pedestrian entrance involving the replacement of gates, the repair of a shared boundary wall with neighbouring protected structure Anderson’s Cottage and necessary site works are also included in the application.
Submissions are open until June 5th and Clare County Council must reach a decision before June 26th
