Plans For New Council Homes In 12 Clare Communities

Clare County Council has already approved plans to build over 300 homes between this year and next.

Three-quarters of the new homes will be built by the Council itself, with the remainder to be delivered by approved housing bodies.

The homes are located in 21 different projects in Ennis, Quilty, Kilmihil, Doonbeg, Miltown Malbay, Sixmilebridge, Shannon, Newmarket on Fergus, Tulla, Scarriff, Clarecastle and Crusheen.

Details were revealed at a recent meeting of the Clare County Council’s Social Development Committee, which oversees housing, while the meeting also heard criticisms of the HAP scheme.
